The Commemorative Exhibition «1821 MEDALS OF THE GREEK REVOLUTION» at Iliou Melathron was organized by the Numismatic Museum of Athens commemorating the 200 years from the Greek Revolution 1821. My work “The Ark of Light and Memory” is created especially for this Anniversary Exhibition. It is inspired by a series of twelve commemorating historical medals; part of the Numismatic Museum collection, having as their main theme the Greek Revolution of 1821. My interest was focused mainly to the importance of such maxims engraved on both sides of the historical medals which encompass values of the time.
